Each unique bar of Aermeda soap has been thoughtfully conceived to have its own distinct purpose, enriching your bathing routine. Understanding the properties of all our ingredients is vital in formulating our recipes so that each soap has its own individual combination of ingredients that determine the feel and properties of the final product.
Our soap and individual ingredient descriptions will enable you to choose the type of soap for your purpose.

Clays offer many benefits in skincare products. Aermeda uses a variety of natural clays in our soaps for the following reasons;
– exfoliates and smooths
– removes toxins and pollutants
– stimulates and brightens
– adds slip (for shaving)
– contains valuable minerals
– natural colourant

Regular exfoliation can help prevent clogged pores, resulting in fewer breakouts and leaving your skin looking brighter. Exfoliating can improve the appearance of your skin.

Every aspect of the process from formulation of recipe (sourcing/selection of quality ingredients, blending of the essential oils, making of soap batter, cutting soap, stamping soap, packaging soap) right through to despatch is all done by hand. Even milking of goats and collecting of eggs!

Our range of milk soaps contain either Goats milk, Organic Almond milk or a combination of Organic Coconut & Organic Rice milk. They are all created by us using a variety of the highest quality raw natural ingredients reputed for their benefits to your skin and considerate to our planet.
All our soaps are vegetarian and we offer two vegan milk soaps containing Organic Almond or a combination of Organic Coconut & Organic Rice milk.
Aermeda soaps are formulated with ingredients made from 100% plant based oils and butters, milk. We use a combination of Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Mango Butter, Castor Oil and Almond Oil in our soaps.
Aermeda never uses Palm Oils, Sodium Laurel Sulphate or artificial fragrances in any of our products.

Yes! All Aermeda soaps are created with 100% milk – no cutting with water – to replace the water component in each bar – be it Goat milk, Almond milk or Coconut & Rice milk soap.
This is what gives you such a soft, creamy and gentle soap, providing you with such good results.

This will vary based on usage and how it is cared for. Our soaps cure for 8 weeks in order to bring you a nice, hard bar of soap.
If properly stored and drained between uses, you can typically expect a soap on the rope/soap bar to last at least 3-4 weeks or longer. By creating an ideal environment, your soaps will last longest.
To care for your soap and make it last longer:
• Place your soap bar on a soap dish that keeps it from standing in water, and with good air ventilation
• Ideally, allow your soap to dry completely between use
• Hang your soap on the rope and avoid leaving soap in a direct spray of water.

If you need to store the soap, store it in a non-humid location out of direct heat or sunlight.

Our regular soap on the rope and soap bars are a generous size – weighing a minimum 155g hand cut.

No! We do not test any of our products on animals. All testing is done on eager humans!

We do not use any synthetic detergents in our soaps or lotions. There are no preservatives in our soaps. Aermeda soaps are 100% natural.

The Aermeda soap range is a mixture of scented and unscented bars. The fragrant bases in our products are derived from natural essences, distilled from last matter – natures own perfumery.
Where our products are scented the subtle aroma is achieved through our own unique blend of therapeutic grade botanical oils.
This does not achieve the strong level of scents found in other cosmetics using fragrance and enhancers.

Aermeda soaps only contain therapeutic grade essential oils. We do not use fragrance oils.
Essential oils are 100% pure botanical extracts that provide aromatherapeutic benefits as well as beautiful aromas. They are considered “all-natural.”
Fragrance oils are NOT “all-natural”, they are man-made, synthetic scents. Some are made to mimic the scent of an essential oil, while others are a more traditional perfume or fruity concoction.

Our range of soap boxes are made from FSC certified paper conforming to exacting social and environmental guidelines and are home compostable. Soap boxes are designed and made locally in Otago.
Our packaging is made using recycled materials wherever possible. All of our packaging, however, is recyclable, compostable or can be repurposed for another use. We do not use plastic in our packaging or products. Our courier bags are paper where possible.
